Food for thought - Interconnection

.“The most subtle secret that exists is interconnection. Each action taken affects the entire planet. Do you know how I see the role of religions? I believe that each one is like the branch of a tree whose seed is just one, the same God. Discussions over which is the most important fruit, which is the brightest leaf or which branch is the most correct, is something that is totally outside the context of spirituality. In the final analysis, all are part of the same tree.”

.“The energy of compassion is the energy that I feel coming from God. One fundamental aspect common to religions, philosophies and beliefs, is based on some fundamental values. Peace is a vital energy, as is love. These attributes should serve as the means to establish a common convergence for all religions, beliefs and philosophies. Peace and love are attributes that transcend all of this, as they are innate qualities of human beings and of God.”

.“In Raja-Yoga meditation, there are three different types of attitudes. The first relates to your attitude toward and with yourself. It is an experience that can be summed up in the phrase “Om Shanti”. “Om” means to be conscious of the soul, the spirit and “Shanti” means peace. In this state of meditation, you live the experience. ‘I am a conscious being and my nature is peace. I am peace. I am light.”

.“When there are times of great instability what is of real value are the attitudes, more than anything else. What can we do for a person in those moments of great pain?” “Solidarity, respect or just simple company, are the instruments of assistance and real help. In these moments, great theories make little sense. It helps little to talk a lot. Small gestures of solidarity have a much greater effect.”

.“In moments of great pain and difficulty, it is not the time to judge. True greatness exists on the smallest level when we extend a helping hand or manifest respect and sincerity. If you think of it, we understand and accept, during these moments, that differences are of little importance. What is really important is the gesture of respect, of compassion and understanding. We should not attempt to reach chaos to create ties that bind. We have the responsibility to do it now. While there is time. We should never wait until things are bad before we manifest solidarity, peace and love. The moment is now!”

.“We ourselves should become the change that we wish for the world.” Gandhi

.“The energy of God is the energy of good and of peace. The energy of disrespect, of anger, and of violence is the energy that is born of the ego. It has nothing to do with God. I believe that whatever the beliefs or theories, the focus should be placed on practicing the “essence” and not on getting lost in details. Of greater importance it is to practice that which is most sacred for you, thus letting others do the same.”
