When we remember the “old” guys - philosophers, mathematicians, scientists and artists who were a great gift to our planet, throughout the centuries - we may get inspired.
What to?
To another world, one which is part of everyone’s lives.
That is the world of abstraction.
A world which, for sure, our “old” fellows were used to visit a lot.
It is a world far beyond the world of day to day actions. Far distant from the world of formalities and bureaucracy.
Another dimension in time?
Probably so, but the fact is that it is much closer to us , than most may imagine.
Key question?
Are the accesses to that world just available for geniuses or high talented guys?
Pythagoras
When one of the most talented guy in history, Pythagoras established what came to be known as the Pythagorean Academy what was he trying to do?
At least he intended to share some of his discoveries.
Is it common to share part of someone’s life with others?
Well, even the most private people do things aiming to bring benefit to others.
I am sure that Pythagoras had discovered precious things he wanted to share with some other people.
Einstein
When the most well known scientist of our time presented what he and many other important scientists had worked hard to establish - the scientific basis for the quantic physics, they were opening a gate to a different way of thinking. Completely different, actually.
Their studies lead to the possible conclusion that everything is linked and that there are several “worlds” co-existing simultaneously.
When they came to the conclusion that in a scientific experiment the simple presence of an observer may create interference in the results, they were changing history.
The point is that sometimes we deny ourselves to get into any of these “worlds” which co-exist, right now. Either if we are aware of them or not.
Fact
When I try to enter the world of any of these “old fellows” one aspect gets clear in my mind: besides their knowledge, studies and observation ability, all these “guys” were highly intuitive.
Without intuition not even one of them would have reached their experiences - and fruits of them, naturally.
Aggregated world
The feeling that it is possible to aggregate this world -of abstraction, to our lives is very strong.
That is possible within the organizations, companies, in all levels, educational, industrial, governmental, health, religions, sports, etc.
The abstraction helps to access new dimensions. Even for old and known fields we are used to.
Moments
Moments of abstraction may be reached (experimented) in several ways.
Pelé- the greatest soccer player.
He was a genius of the soccer fields. He was used to invent movements and actions which no one had ever imagined as possible in a soccer game.
Well what did he do before important games, where stress is a huge problem for many and the level of adrenaline increases a lot before such decisive games?
He used just to lay down in silence, for a few minutes, getting disconnected from everyone else and everything else besides himself. Outside the crowd usually were chanting and making intense noise.
His teammates were there, close to him, stretching and getting prepared for the coming “battle”. But he used to keep himself still, silent, completely relaxed- just lying down on a bench or on the floor in the cloakroom.
Those who heard about his performances know why he was chosen the athlete of the century.
When he came into action, after those silent minutes what were the results?
Creativity, power, concentration, and his talent coming up. Excellency, this was what everyone used to perceive: the spectators, his teammates, his opponents and all the critics.
In seconds, pursued by his adversaries, everything required used to come up, nobody knows where from.
Question
People will talk about his performances for a long time, remember his dedication in the preps, but will they remember his few moments of abstraction before bringing all that into action?
Up in one second
In Mount Abu, India, at the Brahma Kumaris Organization’s headquarters*, we can find the most incredible people one can imagine. They are mostly women, old women whose power is always present.
They are yogis, to whom the leadership of an organization was given about sixty years ago in India.
Imagine the picture: India, sixty years ago. The women roles?
Well, we do not need to tell anyone about that. The fact is that those women had overtaken that organization as their heads and improved its activities around the world – in about eighty countries.
Well, the point is that behind the challenge they had, there was something special.
The methods and practices they used are simple, but very original.
Their aims converge to one aspect: to help people to uplift their quality of living.
One of the aspects anyone may practice from time to time is something that we may call: going up in one second.
Up in One second, that is the exercise. How do they practice it?
From time to time - about every two hours or so, they stop whatever they are doing, classes, speeches, cooking, construction, whatever. They simply stop and for about thirty seconds or a little more, they practice an uplifting of the level of consciousness. They call it “traffic control”.
We can understand that name meaning to stop for a few seconds to enable anyone to act as an observer and evaluate the level of thoughts and try to uplift that level, to a higher level.
That simple exercise is extremely effective and we would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an enhancement in their quality of thinking.
“I lost the number of times I used it, since moments of tension, inside, private discussions about very important topics, facing discontented employees or business partners, lecturing or in speeches. Those seconds of abstraction have helped me quite effectively along all of my life.
Effect
Doing this “one second up” exercise one just uplifts their own level of energy.
Coming back into action again, one returns to it feeling recharged, empowered. It works as if one has had a long break.
Beauty
I would say that those few seconds of abstraction do rebuild the beauty of the moments we are going through.
Beauty really comes up when one gives a chance to it. It is a very subtle sensation, which dwells within us, ultimately.
When one reaches a certain level of harmony, one feels that sensation and that is transmitted to everyone and everything else around.
It works as if the energy level has been raised.
Lifts
The abstraction level has several lifts to take one up. Artists, scientists, spiritualists and great sports people have found their lifts to reach some levels up.
What is your organization doing about that?
Inspirational attempts will be practiced to see what and how each org, department or person may find their lifts.
