Maturity comes when a choice is made; when a path is chosen. Here is a subtle and powerful secret: maturity is born when we start to listen to our intuition. It is then that gestation starts.
While we try to keep “control” of our lives and of situations, we are only listening to reason, and this will be a sterile field for maturity to come alive.

Wisdom gives real safety for choice and vision, as well as acceptance or refusal. It gives us the ability of observing and learning, of being flexible and understanding, of seeing and understanding. A firmly held belief can be deceiving and make us blind. To see the obvious, to consider an opinion as final, “carrying a firm belief” can mean to stop looking beyond the obvious and also losing the ability of seeing from other perspectives.

We do live in an era of extreme competition. In business competition is almost everywhere. Several concepts are behind this kind of pattern attitude – to compete. We may accept them and mold ourselves to live within this world in basically two possible ways. One is acting as a “shark” with a killer and competitive instinct. The other way is acting as a “dolphin”, sharing the same ocean as the sharks, co-existing with them but with a completely different perspective.

To learn how to use an instrument many times is vital to reach certain objectives. However, an instrument is, and always will be, just an instrument.
A fork takes food to the mouth, but as soon as the body receives it we return the fork to the plate.
In today’s world, knowledge is the “fork” that takes us to experiences and absorptions.
Knowledge is an instrument, a valuable one, but still just an instrument.

Paths are diverse, options countless.
The pressure to take attitudes is something that became common in today’s world.
There are sources of inner or outer tensions which may impair processes that could be enriching, if lived at their natural speed and which might lead to development and satisfaction.

“No matter what one obtains through the use of ‘obscure’ means, there is never satisfaction and happiness. There will always be a lack of harmony and equilibrium. A system that is based on the negation of values like peace and love and happiness is not sustainable and does not ever reach equilibrium.”

“You know, these mountains are special. They seem to be made of power, beauty and softness,” said Ferhelin looking at the girl.
“Yes, they are all of those things,” she responded.
“The mountains seem to speak,” Ferhelin added.
The young girl looked into Ferhelin’s eyes as she spoke.
“The mountains speak. If you look at them closely, you will see more than you can see at this moment, you will learn what they have to say. See their beauty, their long history, the combination of many differences that create their harmony. Look closely at their subtleties — these are things that you can only see if you look at them with the eyes of a ‘friend.”

“In the early morning before dawn, Ferhelin drank her tea sitting before the fireplace. She had been awakened by lightening and thunder and decided to go to the dining hall.
Listening to the falling rain, she reflected about her first experiences in the Rockies. In her mind she received a visit from Fernando Pessoa. “To be complete, be whole, nothing in you can be exaggerated or excluded.” “How grand are the poets, translating life into words,” she thought.
The magnitude of awareness that she had reached during those first days in the Rockies transcended the knowledge that she so dearly loved and to which she had dedicated her life to in those years of study.”
