“On my journey I encountered a female Master Yogi that I will never forget.
Her life objective was to inspire happiness in others. This Master Yogi, with more than sixty years of experience practicing Raja- Yoga, has clearly defined her role in the world. She doesn’t judges others or look for defects in them. She is very wise and observing. Her clear perception of her role in the world is her guide to her actions. She is a person with an immense level of responsibility and is the principal person responsible for an international organization. If you were to meet her, you would find it difficult to understand how she deals with so many responsibilities and remain so light and happy. Her contentment is contagious.
What is so special about her?
A person, who was visiting the organization that she directed, asked her just how she knew if she was making progress or not in her life.
Her answer was simple: I feel that I am making progress in my spiritual life when I notice that the obstacles, the ones that previously caused disturbances in my mental state for a time, were disturbing me less and less, until they reached the point where they ceased to bother me at all. The object could not have disappeared or ceased to exist, but I no longer feel affected by it as I once had been. In that way, I preserve my spiritual journey. When something affects me, I hand over the energy of the problem to the ocean of light of God. I try to imagine how He would want me to prepare for not being affected by that problem. After doing this, I disconnect myself from the problem and concentrate putting into practice exactly what comes to mind from that conversation with God.
There was no time when she mentioned the fact of avoiding the obstructions, the problems of the situation, call that what you will. They can continue to exist. Many times, there is no way to avoid them, but what happens is that, depending on your perspective and spiritual development, they no longer affect you. At some point in your life, you no longer perceive their existence.”
